One of the most underrated and influential bands of the last 30 years is Prong. Two of their albums Beg To Differ and Cleansing have helped usher in industrial and groove metal in the 1990’s. When I think of Prong a few things come to mind, heavy riffs, pummeling riffs, groovy riffs and rhythms that bounce as well as mosh.

Now in 2026, Prong are about to release their Self Titled new album which is their fifteenth studio album. Two songs have been released “The Banner” and “Fear The Sun” and it’s classic Prong all the way. Guitarist/Vocalist Tommy Victor sounds as good as ever. Both songs incorporate subtle nuances to the repertoire of Prong. “The Banner” is one of the most melodic songs Prong has ever released. The soaring chorus vocal really shows off another side of Tommy that’s been in there all along. “Fear The Sun” is a straight barn burner of a song that will absolutely make audiences bounce.

On November 06, 2026, via Napalm Records, Prong’s self titled album arrives. I look forward to when Prong comes to Los Angeles. It’s been too long since I’ve seen Prong live. Last time I did, Art Cruz now the drummer for Lamb Of God was in the band along with Jason Christoper (Ministry/New Dead Radio) on bass.
