Beth Gibbons of Portishead joined up with instrumental musicians Gonga to record this version of Black Sabbath’s “Black Sabbath.” It’s now even more haunting and eerie with Beth’s signature croon all over it!

Thin Lizzy is one of the best bands from Europe that never really got the respect they deserved in the States, even though they’ve influenced countless bands. A little over 10 years ago Mastodon did a cover of “Emerald” and released it on a special edition of REMISSION. Enjoy!!!

Cover Thursday: Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross and Karen O (Led Zeppelin)- Immigrant Song
I’m not a fan of the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s at all but this version of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” is fantastic. The arrangement from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross as well as the visuals from the opening sequence of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo make this great.
Cover Tursday: Type O Negative (Neil Young)- Cinnamon Girl
Neil Young is one of my favorites ever. Type O Negative gave new life to this song and totally changed the mood. They made it darker, eerie and vulnerable. R.I.P. Peter Steele!
