New Release: Converge- I Can Tell You About Pain 7″

Today, Converge premiered two new tracks online from their upcoming 7″ single,“I Can Tell You About Pain” The two songs released “I Can Tell You About Pain” and “Eve” are pretty classic sounding Converge. “Eve” is one of the most epic songs the band has put out. It almost could have been on Axe To Fall, with the vibe that it puts out.  You can also pre-order the 7″ edition of the aforementioned EP via deathwishinc.com.  There are still plans for Converge to release a new album later this year. In the meantime, check out the two new songs below!

New Release: Nine Inch Nails- Less Than

Trent Reznor promised more new Nine Inch Nails music this year and he didn’t disappoint. The new upcoming EP is entitled ADD VIOLENCE and the first single from that is called “Less Than.” What a great song. It contains elements of Pretty Hate Machine and Hesitation Marks, making this a full circle track. 

I can’t wait for the whole EP which, will be released July 21!!!

I’m sure you can tell that I’m really stoked on Less Art. Their debut album Strangled Light can’t arrive soon enough. Today, a new song “Diana The Huntress” was released. This track is another great representation of what the band has to offer. This explosive song features guest vocals from Meghan O’Neill-Pennie (Super Unison ex-Punch), which helps to add another layer of urgency to the screams of vocalist Mike Minnick. Band Of The Week: Cons

There are so many new bands out there that I’m extremely stoked on. A couple years back, a band called Coma Prevail came up on my radar. They released a couple “demo” recordings and it sounded very promising. Sadly though, their singer passed away. Just when I thought they were going to call it a day, they regrouped and began a new chapter under a different name, Cons. Their upcoming debut EP, Slowhealer (produced by Beau Burchell of Saosin) is going to be a rip roaring, riff-tastic slab of heavy and post hardcore. The first single “The Burden Of Knowing Why” is a great representation of what Cons has to offer. There are moments in the song that have some similarities to Saosin and The Bled (guitarist Jeremy Talley was a member of The Bled.) This stunning five-piece outfit from Tucson, AZ consisting of Josh Fererra (vocals), Jeremy Talley (guitar), Matt Barios (guitar, vocals), Steven Hathaway (bass), and Stephen Majalca (drums), is set to take the music scene by storm and unleash their fury upon us all.

Anticipated Albums: Less Art- Strangled Light

I’m seriously beyond stoked on Less Art. I’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of their debut since it was announced who was in the band. After the first single “Pessimism As Art” was released, I got extremely giddy and listened to the song on repeat for the next few days. Now, today, Less Art released another song from their up coming debut entitled “Wandering Ghost.” This track is continues the great foundation that “Pessimism” laid down. Strangled Light is shaping up to be quite the debut.

Less Art are the type of band that deserves your attention. There is real depth and passion in each of these songs. The sheer joy of creating this music comes through in each of the members performances.

Anticipated Albums: Eighteen Visions- XVIII

In that time, many people including myself, have been wondering if and when they would get back together. Well the answer to that question is a resounding yes, Eighteen Visions are back, and are they coming back with a vengeance. Their upcoming album will be out Friday, June 2nd. Based on the few tracks they’ve released thus far, the band finds themselves returning to their metalcore roots and bringing an unrelenting assault to the genre.

Anticipated Albums: Mutoid Man- War Moans

Mutoid Man have a new album coming out June 2nd and I couldn’t be more stoked. I’ve long been a fan of Cave In and Converge, so the idea of Stephen Brodsky (of Cave In) and Ben Koller (of Converge) making a second full length album is music to my ears. Their first EP Helium Head was a great introduction and exactly what you thought the music would sound like. Then on their debut full length, Bleeder, they stepped it up about 10 notches and delivered a very ass kicking record. The two new songs from their upcoming album War Moans, are blistering and full of intensity. This is one band that you should be playing with the volume turned all the way up.

Mastodon are one of the best bands to come out since the turn of the century. They have evolved as a band in the best possible way without compromising their artistic integrity. All of their albums, with the exception of The Hunter, are classics and influential. Their ability to write “albums” sets them apart from their peers in the rock and metal circles. Their new album Emperor Of Sand (in stores March 31,2017), is gearing up to be an album of the year contender. From the three songs released, you can tell that Troy, Brann, Bill, and Brent are in sync and ready to deliver another gem.

Often time as bands go through lineup changes, it takes a while for the band to get back in the swing of things. The new members have a different way of playing and bring a different energy that takes the music on a detour. Then over time as they grow more comfortable, the band comes back to where they should be. Darkest Hour is one of these bands. On their upcoming 9th album, the gents in Darkest Hour have returned to their roots and are about to deliver their most ferocious album in years. You can tell by listening to the first few songs released that these guys mean business. By working with producer Kurt Ballou of Converge and bringing in former guitarist Kris Norris, Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora takes you back to the days of The Mark Of The Judas, Hidden Hands Of The Sadist Nation era. Anticipated Albums: With Our Arms To The Sun- Orenda

The time has almost arrived for one of my favorite bands to release their new album. With Our Arms To The Sun, have one hell of an album for you all. Their latest (upcoming) release, Orenda, is a journey that takes you beyond the normal realms of concept albums. Produced by Buzz Osborne of The Melvins, the 10 songs that make up Orenda, are unrelenting and full of unrivaled passion. The first single “Macrocosm-Prometheus” is a great way to show what With Our Arms To The Sun is all about. Musically, the band is tight and precise. The vocals and especially the lyrics, make them stand out among their peers.

I highly recommend this band to everyone. They are the type of band that restores hope in the future of music.
