New Release: SWMRS

Summer is ending, but that doesn’t mean that the fun times have to stop. This band SWMRS was brought to my attention recently and they are quite the fun band. SWMRS is a surf punk band formed in Oakland, California in 2004 by Cole Becker and Joey Armstrong (His dad is Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day), Their influences range from the Beach Boys to the Ramones. These guys have named own brand of Rock and Roll, known as “Beach Pop”.  Recently they released a 2 song single. The main single is a tribute to Miley Cyrus. It’s a really fun song to rock out to. Give it a listen below.

New Release: Sevendust- Thank You

Today is going to be a good day. Sevendust released the first song off their new album Kill The Flaw (which comes out October 2nd) entitled “Thank You.” This song is along the same lines of their earlier heavier songs off of Animosity and even the album Alpha, and with just the right amount of melody. It seems that doing that acoustic album helped reinvigorate the heavy in the band. Check it out!!!

Sevendust- Thank You:

LYRICS:

SO HELP ME TO SEE
GIVE ME A CHANCE TO COME AROUND
ALL THIS CLOSURE WE NEED
WILL THIS EVADE US ALL SOMEHOW

ON MY OWN
FORGIVE ME NOW WE KNOW
WHERE TO GO FROM HERE
YOU ARE THE BEGINNING AND THE END
TO ALL OF THIS

JUST WAIT
FEEL IT COMING NOW
(FIND A REASON
TO LIVE)
FALL BACK
WHAT
NO CONDITION
COME ON
THE TIME HAS NOW-
(BELIEVE IN ME)

SO THANKS FOR COMING AROUND
AND PUSHING MY HEAD BACK TO THE GROUND
THANK YOU FOR SLOWING ME DOWN
I NEED TO FALL BACK AND START IT ALL OVER

BEEN HOLDING ON SO LONG
DENYING WHAT I’VE DONE
I DESTROYED MYSELF BUT I WISH YOU WELL
COMPLETELY OVERTHROWN

ON MY OWN
RELEASE ME NOW WE KNOW
ALL THE ANSWERS HERE WE ARE
THE BEGINNING AND THE END TO ALL OF THIS

New Release: Wild Throne- Harvest Of Darkness

Wild Throne is one of the best new bands I’ve heard in a long time. They have a great sound that combines the best of Queens Of The Stone Age, The Mars Volta, and a little bit of The Dillinger Escape Plan’s schizophrenic tendencies. Their debut album, which was produced by Ross Robinson, will be released October 2 through Roadrunner Records. Check out the first video off their album Harvest Of Darkness.

Video Of The Week: Failure- Hot Traveler

As June 30th gets closer, my excitement for the new Failure album is growing by extremes. I really think their new album The Heart Is A Monster is going to challenge anything so far and will come out, for album of the year. On Monday, Failure released their video for the first single from their long awaited follow up to Fantastic Planet. Here it is in all it’s glory!
