New Release: Ken Andrews- Sword and Shield

Ken Andrews Interview- Failure - Everyone Loves Guitar - Everyone Loves Guitar

The renowned Ken Andrews, of the very amazing Failure, Year of the Rabbit and ON, as well as being an acclaimed producer and mixer has released the five-song What’s Coming EP via Red Swan Records. The EP arrives with a video for the first single “Sword and Shield,” which is a pointed rebuke of the current President of the United States and Andrews’ first ever politically-infused social commentary via song.

Anticipated Albums: Sevendust- Blood and Stone

Sevendust’s new album Blood and Stone arrives this Friday, October 23rd. While it’s definitely been a very interesting year to say the least, at least we still have new music coming out. This new Sevendust album, is shaping up to be a pretty rockin one. The two songs released so far, “Blood From A Stone” and “Dying To Live,” both have a return to the early days kind of sound a la Animosity mixed with a little Seasons and some Cold Day Memory vibes. Sevendust have been one of the hardest working bands since they broke on the scene over 20 years ago. This new album, shows their commitment to the fans to keep being creative and releasing new tunes.

New Release: Architects- Animals

Architects Return With Huge New Single, Animals — Kerrang!

Architects have dropped a brand new single entitled “Animals.” This song will be on their upcoming new album, For Those That Wish To Exist. There is no release date for the album at this time but, this song is a banger for sure. This song is a bit of a departure from the last couple of Architects albums but, it shows a growth and adds some more elements to their already heavy sound.

New Release: Killer Be Killed- Dream Gone Bad

KILLER BE KILLED - Dream Gone Bad (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) - YouTube

Well, Killer Be Killed have done it yet again. “Dream Gone Bad,” the second single released from their upcoming album Reluctant Hero, is one hell of a jam. And the video, directed by Jim Louvau & Tony Aguilera is quite trippy and totally fits with the song. The trade off vocals between Troy Sanders and Greg Puciato are stellar as well. This album is defintely shaping up to be one of the best of 2020.

Album Review: Greg Puciato- Child Soldier: Creator of God

When an artist goes solo, the results can tend to be so full of expectations that, when you finally hear it, it can bit underwhelming but, that’s not the case with Greg Puciato’s solo album. What has been unleashed on this record, is an album that encapsulates every aspect of what Greg has done and unveils a few new twists and turns you might not expect. Child Soldier: Creator of God is an album that is no holds barred and lets true artistry stand out.

Through the 15 tracks and 65 minutes of this record, there is something for everyone who is a fan of Greg and what he’s done, be it in The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Black Queen or his guest appearances. Each song takes on a life of its own as well. There are times when the album feels a bit disjointed but, in actuality, it’s really not. The way the songs are placed and the flow of it, takes you, the listener, on a very distinct journey through the inner workings of what is in Greg’s mind.

Part of what makes this album stand out is the diversity of the songs. There are the moments that are ambient and etherial and then there are those that are straight up in your face hard rocking songs. There is absolutely no compromise when it comes to either of those things on this record. Just when you think it’s going to go one way, you get taken a different route and the end result is astonishing. Another thing about this album that provides a sonic punch is the use of different drummers. Having Chris Hornbrook, Ben Koller and Chris Pennie hitting the skins on this album you get a different pulse behind certain songs the provides another layer to the depth of these songs. Also worth noting is the production and mixing on this record. Nick Rowe’s production and assistance on these songs is just what was needed. And the mix by the legendary Steve Evetts is damn near flawless. You can really feel the grittiness and nuances that are meant to come across.

Having been a fan of Greg’s for quite some time, this album really showcases what a true talent he really is. Having an outlet like this and not being confined by a style or genre has really allowed Greg to find his own way. The moment you put this album on till it ends, it will engulf you with so many different feelings. I wish I could pin point certain songs for you to check out but, that wouldn’t do this album justice. It’s an album through and through. The beauty of an album like this is that there is so much to delve into. The more you listen, the more you find new things to love about it. This year has been a very interesting one for sure with so many moments that leave you shaking your head but, one thing is for sure, this album, is one of the bright spots of the whole year.

New Release: Deftones- Genesis

Deftones Are Teasing A New Single, Genesis — Kerrang!

We are one week away from Deftones releasing their new album Ohms. Now, they have now released the first song on the album “Genesis.” This track definitely has a White Pony vibe mixed with a bit of the self titled one and some Diamond Eyes too. This album is absolutely back on the right track and way better than what Gore was.

Deftones- Genesis:

New Release: Eighteen Visions- Sink & The Wicked

Eighteen Visions Premiere New Song “Sink”, Announce New EP “Inferno”

Eighteen Visions are back yet again with a new EP Inferno, inspired by Italian poet Dante Alighieri‘s ‘The Divine Comedy‘. So far two songs from the EP have been released, “Sink” and “The Wicked.” Both of these tracks are badass and hit hard like 100 metal baseball bats to the head. The EP will be out on October 2nd. Looks like they really picked up where their very awesome 2017 album left off.

New Release: Nothing- Say Less

I’ve always thought it was interesting that sometimes, it takes me a little bit to get into a band. Perhaps at the time they come out, I’m just not feeling it or there’s just so much else out there at the moment I don’t devote the time to it. Recently a friend of mine, suggested I check out the new song by the band Nothing. This is one band that I tried to get into a while back but, for the reasons above, it didn’t happen. Now though, they have my attention and I can’t wait to hear more. On October 30th, Nothing will release their new album, The Great Dismal (via Relapse Records). The first song released “Say Less” has this really cool 90’s alternative vibe, kind of like Hum and a slight (very slight) industrial tinge to it. This album is shaping up to be something quite cool.
