Cover Comparison: Jon Bon Jovi vs Jeff Buckley (Leonard Cohen)- Hallelujah

I’ve been wanting to do this cover comparison for a while now. Anyone that knows me very well, knows that I’m a huge Bon Jovi fan. I’ve seen them perform this version a few times and it is amazing. Jeff Buckley did a great job with it too. I’m going to have to go with Jon’s version though. There is just something so amazing about it. Leonard Cohen even thought it was that good too that he even said that it’s Jon’s song now. What one do you think is best?

Cover Thursday: A Bunch Of Neil Young Covers

Last night I saw Neil Young, and I’m still in awe. He played for three hours non stop. I wanted to write a review of the show but I seriously can’t put into words how amazing it was. Well in honor of that show, I thought I’d share some really great covers of Neil songs with you all. Enjoy!

Cover Comparison: Smashing Pumpkins vs Bush (Fleetwood Mac)- Landslide

So this past week as you can tell I’ve been back on a Smashing Pumpkins kick. I was searching through covers that they did over the years and wanted to do something in those regards. So while looking up Smashing Pumpkins covers I remembered that Bush also covered Stevie Nicks “Landslide.” So what one do you think is better?

Cover Thursday: Incubus (Soundgarden)- Black Hole Sun

I’m still on an Incubus kick. And while on this kick I looked into the band a lot to see what I missed over the years of not being a fan of theirs. During my research I stumbled upon this cover they did of Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun.” It’s nothing special, but it is a solid rendition. So here you go!

Cover Thursday: Professional Murder Music (The Cure)- A Night Like This

I recently gave a friend of mine a bunch of music to listen to. One of the bands I gave him was Professional Murder Music. Some of you might remember them in the early 2000’s. They were featured on the End Of Days soundtrack. Anyway, on their debut album they did a really cool version of The Cure’s “A Night Like This,” so I thought I’d share their version on this cover Thursday.

Cover Comparison: Disturbed, Sonata Arctica, Apocalyptica (Metallica)- Fade To Black

I was going through some CD’s the other day and came across a CD of covers I burned. On it there was Disturbed’s version of Metallica’s “Fade To Black.” This got me thinking that I should do a cover comparison of the different covers of “Fade To Black.” So here you have three versions. Disturbed’s, Sonata Arctica’s, and Apocalyptica. Who do you think did it best?

Cover Comparison: Stone Sour vs HIM (Chris Issak)- Wicked Game

I’ve throughly enjoyed doing this feature on Thursdays. It’s really fun to find interesting covers and share them with you all, even if some of you have heard them before. Today I bring you a cover comparison between Stone Sour and HIM, covering Chris Issak’s “Wicked Game.” Which one do you prefer?

Cover Thursday: Garbage (Ramones)- I Just Want To Have Something To Do

I find it very intriguing that while on my kick of listening to Garbage as of late I would stumble upon their cover of my favorite Ramones song, “I Just Want To Have Something To Do.” Shirley Manson really delivers the goods on this version, as well as the rest of the band.
