New Release: Thrice- The Grey

thrice2018.jpg

Thrice have released a new song called “The Grey.” The band announced today (after months of rumors) that they have signed with Epitaph Records and are going to be releasing a new album later this year along with a full scale headline tour which starts September 21 in San Diego and ends in Los Angeles November 18. Joining Thrice on tour will be The Bronx.

“The Grey” sounds like Thrice. It sort of picks up where they left off on To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere with a bit of the Major/Minor sound.

After a very long break, Hopesfall have returned following a lengthy hiatus. Hopesfall’s new song “H.A. Wallace Space Academy,” is off their upcoming album Arbiter (out July 13th) their first since 2007’s Magnetic North. This new song picks up where they left off but also rekindles the classic style they had on their landmark album The Satellite Years.

Anticipated Albums: Sevendust- All I See Is War

Now on their 12th album (yes 12, crazy I know) Sevendust is back doing what Sevendust does, and that’s bring the ROCK. Their upcoming album, All I See Is War (out May 11 via Rise Records), is shaping up to a bit of a continuation of all the things fans of the band enjoy based on the two songs released so far, Dirty and Not Original. One thing that needs to be mentioned time and time again about Sevendust is how great of a singer Lajon Witherspoon is. That guy, man, he’s got so much soul in that voice and it’s bleeding all over this album. Check out what they have in store for us all.

Anticipated Albums: Will Haven- Muerte

One band that I’ve always thought of as totally underrated is Will Haven. They never fully got their due when they came out. Hailing from Sacramento just like thier friends in Far and Deftones, Will Haven took a more aggressive approach to their music. I truly thought that when their landmark album Carpe Diem was released in 2001, they would have finally got their due but, sadly that didn’t happen. Though that album is widely accepted today as one of the most underrated and influential albums since the turn of the century.

Today Will Haven released the first song from their upcoming album Muerte (out March 23rd… PRE-ORDER HERE). This song entitled “El Sol” is blistering, epic and features Stephen Carpenter from Deftones.

New Release: Stone Temple Pilots- Roll Me Under

StoneTemplePilotscover2018-500.jpg

Stone Temple Pilots have released another new song from their upcoming self titled album due out March 16. It’s very well known that no one will ever come close to Scott Weiland and his talent, melodies, and lyrics, that’s just irreplaceable. Stone Temple Pilots seem to have found the right guy for the job though. On the two songs released so far, “Meadow” and the new one “Roll Me Under” Jeff Gutt fits the profile of what the next singer of STP should sound like. He’s right in the range vocally of Scott so it won’t be a stretch for him to sing the older songs. The new song “Roll Me Under” sounds like a classic STP song. At least it’s not anything as bad as their work with Chester Bennington.

Remember the band Cold? I sure do. Their album 13 Ways To Bleed On Stage is one hell of an album and is still in constant rotation in my stereo since it came out over 15 years ago. The members of Cold have been hard at work on a new album, scheduled for a 2018 release via Napalm Records. The following is a rough version of a new song called “Beautiful Life.” Check it out!

Anticipated Albums: 10 Years- (How To Live) As Ghosts

10yearshowtolivecd.jpg

In a couple weeks the band 10 Years will release their new album (How To Live) As Ghosts. This new album is shaping up to be quite a tremendous album for the band. Rather than self producing as they did on their previous two releases, they chose to work with Tennessee native and the very in demand Nick Raskulinecz. From the two songs released so far, “Novacaine” and “Burnout” you can tell there is a fire burning inside these guys again. The new album comes out October 27th!
