New Release: Killer Be Killed- Deconstructing Self-Destruction

It’s been six years since the release of Killer Be Killed‘s debut album. Today, they have released their new single “Deconstructing Self-Destruction” off their upcoming second album, Reluctant Hero, which will be out November 20 (via Nuclear Blast Records). This album finds Greg Puciato, Max Cavalera and Troy Sanders along with Ben Koller (Converge, Mutoid Man) teaming up with producer Josh Wilbur to create one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

New Release: The Smashing Pumpkins- CYR & The Colour Of Love

Smashing Pumpkins

For the past couple of weeks, The Smashing Pumpkins have been teasing something new in regards to their upcoming new album. Well, this morning they released two brand new songs, “CYR” and “The Colour Of Love.” They have an Adore feel to them along with an 80’s sensibility. It also kind of reminds me a little bit of where Billy was going on his solo album, The Future Embrace. Personally, I dig this a lot. It’s done well and the songs are well written. I look forward to this whole album which is supposed to be a double album with 20 songs. So I’ll reserve full judgement until it’s all out and I can hear it all in context. In the meantime, check out these two new songs!

New Release: Greg Puciato- A Pair Of Questions

So far, every song released from Greg Puciatio’s debut solo album, Child Soldier: Creator Of God, has been remarkable. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that the newest single released today, “A Pair Of Questions” is right up there with the other three. This one has bit of a vibe from Greg’s other band, The Black Queen but, with just the right amount of space from it to standout on its own. Seriously, I’m beyond excited with what I’ve heard so far. This is definitely already going to be album of the year worthy. You’ll find yourself going back to this song a lot. October 23rd can’t come soon enough.

New Release: Deftones- Ohms

Deftones Announce New Album Ohms - Stereogum

The wait is finally over. Deftones have announced their new album, Ohms, will be released on September 25. The first single from the new record is the title track and it’s quite good. Sure there might be some bias on that since it has been a while that we’ve had new tunes from the band. Based on the sound of this track, it seems to bridge the gap between White Pony and their 2003 self titled album. Check out the song.

New Release: In Parallel- Deep Dark

A few weeks ago I introduced you to the band In Parallel and their incredible new song “Leave It With The Ghost” off thier upcoming EP, Fashioner (Out September 4 via Wiretap Records). Now, they have just released another new track from their EP entitled “Deep Dark” and it’s really really damn good. It’s got this really cool 90’s alternative vibe mixed with a bit of U2 (The Unforgettable Fire era). Also, the pre-order is now up to purchase their EP Fashioner, which by the way was mixed by Ken Andrews of Failure, so you know it sounds extra good too! Definitely check out what In Parallel has to offer. This band is phenomenal.

New Release: Greg Puciato- Roach Hiss

Greg Puciato has premiered his new track “Roach Hiss” from his upcoming solo album Child Soldier: Creator Of God. This is the fourth single released from this record and it’s definitely showing yet another side of how versatile Greg is a vocalist and songwriter. One this track, Ben Koller, Greg’s bandmate in Killer Be Killed, as well as a member of great bands like Converge and Mutiod Man, slays the drums on this one. October 23, 2020 is the release date for the full album via Federal Prisoner Records.

New Release: Chelsea Wolfe, Ben Chisholm & Jesse Draxler- Valerian

Visual artist Jesse Draxler has put together a pretty damn awesome array of different artists to create an audio/video project that is sure to make your head spin (not in the Linda Blair Exorcist way). The forthcoming album Reigning Cement, is based upon using solely environmental sound recordings to create some very interesting and introspective songs. This new one in particular “Valerian,” which features Chelsea Wolfe and Ben Chisholm, is super eerie and haunting. It feels more like a piece you’d find in a score to a film (maybe even a David Lynch or David Fincher film). Without a doubt though, this project is definitely one of the more innovative things I’ve heard in a long while. A few other tracks have been released as well featuring the band Vowws (another favorite of mine), and Full Of Hell. Definitely keep an eye and ear out for this when it’s fully released on September 4th via Federal Prisoner Records.

New Release: Pallbearer- Forgotten Days

October 23, 2020 is the day that Pallbearer will release their long awaited new album, Forgotten Days. The Little Rock, Arkansas based band formed in 2008 and have since released a trio of albums: Sorrow and Extinction (2012), Foundations of Burden (2014), and my personal favorite, Heartless (2017). The title track is now available for your listening pleasure and this song is just as epic as you’d expect. One thing about Pallbearer I’ve come to realize is that while their albums are really good but, to fully  get why this band is so good, you need to seem them live. It’s a whole other experience.

New Release: Greg Puciato- Do You Need Me To Remind You

Greg Puciato on Going Solo, Reclaiming Aggressive Side: "The ...

On October 23, 2020, Greg Puciato will be unleashing his debut solo album, Child Soldier: Creator Of God via his Federal Prisoner Records label. Today, “Do You Need Me To Remind You” the next single/video from the album was released and it is one hell of a killer track from the record. Poison The Well/Dhani Harrison drummer Chris Hornbrook lends his skills on this song. This track along with the two others already released (“Fire For Water” and “Deep Set”) have definitely made this one of the most anticipated albums of 2020. Child Soldier: Creator of God was recorded in L.A. between 2019 and early 2020. It was produced by Nick Rowe (Vampire Weekend, Haim) and mixed by Steve Evetts (the Dillinger Escape Plan, the Cure). In addition to Hornbrook, the featured drummers are Ben Koller (Converge, Mutoid Man, All Pigs Must Die, Killer Be Killed, etc.) and Chris Pennie (the Dillinger Escape Plan, Coheed and Cambria). Pre-Orders are already underway over at the label’s bandcamp HERE.

Anticipated Albums: En Minor- When The Cold Truth Has Worn Its Miserable Welcome Out

Philip H. Anselmo is quite a talented guy. Throughout the years whether it’s been Pantera, Down, Superjoint, Scour, etc it goes to show how versatile he is as a vocalist and lyricist, not to mention frontman. Last year, we got the first taste of a band he’s talked about for years, En Minor. The two songs released were quite stunning and a complete left turn from anything you’ve ever heard from Philip before. Now, the full length, When The Cold Truth Has Worn Its Miserable Welcome Out, is finally coming out September 4th. The first single “Blue” is absolutely beautiful and haunting. This track features the full arsenal of all the members involved with En Minor and it shows the versatility of all the players. Personally, I really look forward to this album. I also hope when the world gets back to some sort of normalcy, En Minor will get to tour and show off how good these songs are.
